Perspective on aesthetics

Designing is an engaged activity, which demands to take a certain perspective on the world to design for. This perspective leads to specific design decisions and related reflections. Through this perspective, values are redefined, leading towards an original design outcome. The aim of this course that I followed is to understand the role and the impact of these perspectives on designing (as an activity) and on design (as an outcome). Through three iterations focusing on three (different) perspectives, we will gain insights on the importance of perspectives in designing, and on the ways to determine underlying perspectives to a design, to consciously take a perspective into consideration to design. The final part of the elective is dedicated to the creation of a final manifesto on design.
